The VX is the development of the Urban: heavier ceramic, a revised hinge that makes the lid lighter, and a top cap that holds its setting. Those are precisely the three things the Urban generation was pulled up on.
For the cooking it makes little difference — same size, same order of mass, same result. The difference is in the handling, and on a barbecue you open weekly that is less trivial than it sounds.
Who it suits: Anyone who knows the Urban and wants rid of its irritations.

The gauge in the lid measures the air at the top of the dome, not the meat and not the grate. For anything taking more than an hour, core temperature is the only number that counts.
