Big Green Egg is the brand that built this category in the West, and the Medium is the model most people start on. The ceramic is thicker than almost anything cheaper, which you see in how long it holds temperature without you touching it.
There is no stand included. At Big Green Egg that is the rule rather than the exception: the Egg is the product, and the nest, the mates, the tables and the casters are all separate items. A Medium on a rolling nest therefore costs a few hundred euros more than the ticket suggests.
What you get back is the longest warranty in the category and a second-hand market where a ten-year-old Egg still fetches half its original price.
Who it suits: Anyone buying one and not planning to buy another.
